A case involving the illegal sale of electronic cigarettes has been uncovered in the Tashkent Region. In the Ohangaron District, a citizen was apprehended by law enforcement officers while attempting to sell 550 electronic cigarettes.
It is reported that the total value of these products amounted to 130.8 million soums. The operational raid was conducted while the electronic cigarettes were being sold for 6,500 US dollars, exposing the illegal trade.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Ohangaron City Department under the General Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies. As a result of the operational actions, the products were seized as material evidence.
This incident is being classified as a violation related to the illegal circulation of tobacco products. Consequently, a criminal case has been initiated against the individual under Article 186-1 of the Criminal Code.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing. Responsible agencies are expected to determine the origin of the electronic cigarettes, their distribution chain, and whether other individuals are involved in this trade.
Recently, the issue of controlling the circulation of electronic cigarettes has become increasingly urgent. The illegal sale of such products poses not only economic violations but also risks to public health, particularly regarding the spread of harmful habits among youth.
Therefore, law enforcement agencies are continuing measures to prevent such incidents, put an end to illegal circulation, and expose underground trade channels.
