Why is Volvo reclaiming more than 40,000 electric vehicles?

Volvo Cars is recalling 40,323 EX30 SUVs due to a technical malfunction, Reuters reported. It is noted that the decision is related to the possibility of overheating of the batteries.

Before starting the free replacement of spare parts, the manufacturer advised the owners of this model not to charge the battery more than 70%. This measure is being taken to reduce the potential risk.

According to experts, the mass recall process can negatively affect the brand\'s image. The cost of the new batteries is estimated at approximately $195 million, which is said to be a significant financial burden for the company.
