He stated that the $3 billion output in 2023 grew to $9 billion in 2024.

“2022 — $1B, 2023 — $3B, 2024 — $9B. That’s 9x growth in three years,” Smetanin noted.

Missile production up 8x
In 2024, Ukraine launched production of new cruise missiles and drones, including:

- “Palyanytsia”
- “Peklo”
- “Ruta”
- “Bars”

Missile production increased eightfold compared to 2023. Previously, “Neptun” was the only cruise missile in use.

Growth in artillery, drones, armored vehicles
  • Artillery and mortar ammunition output rose 2.4 times.
  • A new towed version of the “Bogdana” howitzer was introduced.
  • Self-propelled artillery production tripled.
  • Armored vehicle factories are at 50% capacity.

Target: $35 billion defense sector
Smetanin said Ukraine had the potential to produce $20 billion worth of weapons in 2024, with a projected $35 billion by 2025.

Presidential advisor Oleksandr Kamyshyn added that 30–40% of weapons used on the front line are made in Ukraine.

“Our defense industry now covers 30–40% of the army\'s needs.”
