Sensation in Kyrgyzstan: Shoirbek Tashiyev arrested
Another sensational event has come up on the agenda in Kyrgyzstan. Shoirbek Tashiyev, the brother of Kamchibek Tashiyev, a former deputy who worked for many years in the country\'s national security system, was detained as part of a major corruption case.
According to local media, in particular, the publication \"24.kg,\" he was arrested as part of a criminal case opened in connection with financial violations identified in the activities of \"Kyrgyzneftegaz.\"
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shoirbek Tashiyev is currently being held in a temporary detention facility under the jurisdiction of the Bishkek City Police Department, and the investigation is ongoing.
The basis for this criminal case was an investigation conducted by the State Tax Service. According to him, in the period from 2021 to 2025, cases of embezzlement and misappropriation of large sums of funds were revealed in a state company.
According to the investigation documents, the products were artificially purchased through intermediaries at low prices and subsequently sold at inflated prices. Also, the raw materials were written off through dubious schemes. As a result, the damage to the state amounted to more than 4 billion soums (about 550 million soums).
Analysis of financial transactions revealed at least three separate channels for the clandestine transfer of income to private structures. Investigative bodies link these structures to individuals close to Kamchibek Tashiyev.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing. This event demonstrates that the fight against corruption has once again become a pressing issue in Kyrgyzstan.
