Switzerland – the country of mountains and peace

Switzerland is a small but developed country in Central Europe. Its capital is Bern. The country has four official languages: German, French, Italian, and Romansh.

Switzerland is famous for its unique nature. Most of its territory is covered by the Alps, which are popular with tourists. Since 1815, the country has followed a policy of military neutrality and does not take part in wars.

Switzerland is a leader in chocolate and watch production. Swiss people also consume about 10 kilograms of chocolate per year.

Ecology is important in Switzerland – waste sorting is mandatory. These features make Switzerland one of the calmest and most comfortable countries to live in.
