Como victory: Verona defeated
In the ninth round of the Italian championship, "Como" hosted "Verona" at home and ultimately secured an important victory. The match started in a very interesting manner.
In the fifth minute, Nikolay Pas hit the post from a free-kick. Shortly after, several shots towards the "Verona" goal were blocked by defenders, but Anastasis Douvikas scored with a header to open the scoring – 1:0.
In the middle of the first half, "Como"'s goalkeeper made a mistake and passed the ball to Serdar Suat, who precisely aimed at the goal – 1:1. Later, after a pass from Pas, Douvikas had another opportunity but couldn't make an accurate shot.
In another attack, "Verona"'s goalkeeper displayed excellent play. In the 62nd minute of the second half, after a pass from Maxence Caqueret, Stefan Posch performed well in the air to put "Como" ahead – 2:1.
In the final 90th minute, Mergim Vojvoda scored on a counterattack, sealing the match – 3:1. Thus, "Como" rose to fourth place in the tournament table with 16 points.
"Verona," meanwhile, remained fourth from the bottom.
