Wayne Rooney Names Premier League's Best Transfer

Former Manchester United and Everton forward Wayne Rooney has named the best transfer of the season in the English Premier League. He highlighted Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka's move to Sunderland as the most successful transfer of this season.

"There were doubts about Xhaka's ability to perform at a high level after returning to the Premier League, especially as he joined a team that had just recently returned to the elite division.

However, I can confidently say now that he is the best transfer of the Premier League this season. Granit is putting on an incredible performance," Rooney told "Goal."

The 33-year-old Swiss footballer was transferred from Bayer Leverkusen to Sunderland for €15 million. The midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the "Black Cats."
