River Plate eliminated from playoffs

The team "River Plate" was eliminated from the playoffs of the Argentine Championship after losing in the first match. The team suffered a 2–3 defeat against "Racing."

In the last 15 minutes of the match, River Plate was leading 2–1, but an own goal by Martin Caceres and a goal in the 93rd minute by Gaston Martirena changed the result. This outcome was somewhat expected, as the club under Marcelo Gallardo's management has been in a period of crisis recently.

Out of the last nine matches, only one has ended in victory. Additionally, the team was also eliminated from the Copa Libertadores after their match against Brazil’s Palmeiras club.
