Bayern Increases Bundesliga Lead Despite No Victory

Before the start of Matchday 14 in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich was leading the standings with an eight-point advantage over their closest rival. However, the Munich club surprisingly failed to secure a win at home against Mainz: Vincent Kompany's team ended their final home match of 2025 with a 2–2 draw.
Despite the draw, Bayern Munich managed to extend their lead over the second-place teams. On Friday, RB Leipzig lost 1–3 to Union during their trip to Berlin, while on Sunday, Borussia Dortmund let their victory slip away in a 1–1 draw against Freiburg.
As a result, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are now level on 29 points each, while Bayern Munich has accumulated 38 points. Kompany’s side now stands nine points ahead of the second-placed teams.
In 2025, Bayern Munich has only one game remaining: an away match against Heidenheim on December 21.
