Syomin says Safonov secured another trophy for PSG

The renowned French publication *Le Parisien* has named Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Matvey Safonov as the team's best player for the month of December. This recognition was commented on by Russian coach Yuri Syomin.

"Safonov played a decisive role in PSG securing their latest trophy. Matvey — well done!

Among Russian footballers, no one has achieved such accomplishments," the expert was quoted as saying by *Sovetskiy Sport.* This month, the Russian player made his first appearance of the season.

The former goalkeeper of *Krasnodar* participated in four matches, conceding three goals. In the recent Intercontinental Cup final, Safonov saved four penalty kicks from Flamengo players and secured PSG's victory during the post-match penalty shootout.
