Real Madrid targets German national team defender as a priority

Borussia Dortmund's central defender Nico Schlotterbeck is being considered as a potential signing for Real Madrid. The 26-year-old player is reportedly at the top of the shortlist to bolster the central defense of the "Los Blancos," according to Madrid Universal.

Schlotterbeck, who is also a member of the Germany national team, has a contract with Borussia Dortmund that runs until mid-2027. However, it is unlikely that he will extend it, which might force the Dortmund club to sell him during the summer transfer window.

Nico Schlotterbeck has also drawn interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and other top European clubs. Transfermarkt experts estimate the Dortmund defender's market value to be around €55 million.
