Eintracht and Borussia Dortmund draw 3–3 in a super drama

Matchday 16 of the German Bundesliga kicked off with a clash in Frankfurt: Eintracht and Borussia Dortmund produced a thrilling draw in a tightly contested game that surprised the fans. The visitors largely looked superior in possession, but the outcome was decided by taking chances. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .

In the 10th minute, Julian Ryerson played a low cross from the right into the box, Arthur Theate failed to intercept, and Maximilian Beier finished accurately from a free position — 0:1. In the 22nd minute, the hosts responded from the penalty spot: Can Uzun sent his shot into the left corner, and the goalkeeper guessed wrong — 1:1.

In the middle of the second half, the teams traded blows again. In the 68th minute, Felix Nmecha fired home a rebound; the shot took a deflection off a defender and went in off the post — 1:2. Three minutes later, Younes Ebnoutalib found space centrally, got past his marker and struck under the crossbar to level it — 2:2.

The biggest drama came in the final minutes. In the 90th minute, after a corner, Nico Schlotterbeck’s close-range header toward the near post hit the crossbar. On the counter, Ryerson made a mistake while trying to clear the ball out of the box; Mahmoud Dahoud struck the far post first time and the ball bounced into the net — 3:2. But Borussia responded immediately: Marcel Sabitzer delivered from the right, and Carney Chukwuemeka—after not converting on his first attempt—eventually slotted it past the goalkeeper to make it 3:3.

As a result, Dortmund remain second in the league table, eight points behind Bayern. Eintracht sit in 7th place.
