According to him, this interest began during his time at "Krasnodar": the club base had a billiard table, and players would play a game or two in their free time.

Safonov writes on Telegram that it all started with going to a simple billiards hall near his house with friends, and then gradually turned into a real hobby: he bought his own cue, even tried individual lessons.

Over time, the goalkeeper realized that he did not intend to take billiards to a professional level, left it as just a hobby, and stopped trying to improve his game.
