Turin unrest: Juventus vs Torino derby delayed following fan clashes

The "Derby della Mole" from the final round of Serie A was delayed for over an hour due to violent clashes between Juventus and Torino ultra groups. Public safety became the primary concern after a fan was seriously injured and hospitalized, putting the match in jeopardy. This is reported by Goal.com .

According to La Repubblica, the conflict between the two sets of supporters began with the throwing of pyrotechnics, bottles, and stones. The situation escalated to the point where the Juventus team bus was pelted with objects upon arriving at the stadium. These events overshadowed what was supposed to be a celebration of Italian football.

According to Sky Italia, one Juventus fan suffered a severe head injury and was rushed for emergency surgery. Due to this incident, the decision to proceed with the match was debated for a long time. While other teams began their matches, players from both clubs were forced to wait in the dressing rooms.

Ultimately, it was decided to start the match at 21:51 local time, but this decision did not sit well with the "Bianconeri" hardcore fans. As reported by AFP, the ultra groups demanded the match be canceled entirely as a mark of respect for their injured comrade and in protest against insufficient security measures.

Once the start of the match was announced, many Juventus fans in the away sector left their seats in protest. As a result, parts of the stands remained empty for the match, which began nearly 70 minutes behind schedule.
