Amazon turns 30: it all started with a door and vision

Today marks 30 years since the launch of the Amazon website. Founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994, the company began humbly — with a computer desk made from a door and planks, and a logo spray-painted like graffiti, CNN reported.

From that small office, Bezos shipped the first books to customers. What started as a minimalist operation grew into one of the largest tech transformations in history.

Over the past 30 years, Bezos’s personal fortune has grown from $0 to $247 billion. Meanwhile, Amazon has evolved into a global giant, offering not just books but a vast range of products and services across the world.
