Sound System officially announced with a new controller

Echo Foundry Interactive has unveiled a new project in the music rhythm-game genre — Sound System. The team reportedly includes specialists who previously worked on classic series such as Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero. The creators describe it as a “next-generation platform” built around live performance, competitive spirit, and community-created content. This is reported by playground.ru reports .

At launch, the game will support guitar, bass guitar, and vocals, with drums and keyboards planned for later. Gameplay is split into two modes: Classic — with more forgiving timing and the song-fail mechanic disabled, and Pro — offering maximum difficulty for experienced players. The biggest focus is on the built-in editor, letting users create note charts for any track themselves.

Sound System will use a free-to-play model: the base version includes a limited set of tracks that will be updated periodically. A full edition costs $34.99 and unlocks 60 songs at launch along with various in-game bonuses. Additional songs will be sold separately, expected to cost around $1 each. The initial artist lineup includes names familiar to early-2000s rhythm-game fans, such as Drist, Graveyard BBQ, and Brian Kahanek.

Alongside the game, Drakong also showcased a dedicated InfinaKore Telecaster Edition controller. The guitar features a modular design and a redesigned D-pad-style control cross for more comfortable execution of advanced techniques. The developers confirmed Sound System will also be compatible with older controllers, including the Riffmaster and Rock Band 4 instruments. The PC version is slated for spring 2026, with PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch versions coming later.
