Intel Core i9-14900KF processor sets a record by reaching 9.2 GHz
The Intel Core i9-14900KF processor has set a new world record: for the first time, a consumer-grade processor has broken the 9.2 GHz speed barrier. Chinese overclocker wytiwx managed to push this chip to a frequency of 9206.34 MHz using liquid nitrogen. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
During the experiment, an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX motherboard and 16 GB of DDR5-5792 memory were used. To achieve the record result, 7 cores and 7 threads of the processor were activated, with the voltage maintained at 1.348 V.
The Intel Core i9-14900KF, part of the Raptor Lake Refresh series, features 24 cores and 32 threads. It has 36 MB of L3 cache and a 125 W TDP, making it one of the most powerful processors capable of reaching 6.0 GHz at factory settings.
Currently, there are only two results in the HWBOT database that have crossed the 9 GHz threshold: this new record and the 9.117 GHz result previously achieved with a Core i9-14900KS. The highest record for AMD processors remains at 8.722 GHz with the FX-8370 model.
