Google Introduces Android CLI Tool: New Opportunities for AI Agents

At its annual Google I/O developer conference, Google announced the stable 1.0 version of the Android CLI (command line interface). This innovation aims to significantly accelerate the development process of Android applications using AI agents, including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or Gemini. This is reported by Techcrunch.com .
The company took into account that developers use not only Google's own tools but also other platforms. Through the new CLI, AI agents can directly access the knowledge required to create and develop projects by leveraging Android Studio capabilities.
Developers can access the system via the "android studio" command to obtain in-depth information on Android app development. This process provides agents with comprehensive functions, ranging from writing code to automating complex tasks.
Additionally, Antigravity, Google's agentic development platform, will be enriched with a special package containing Android CLI tools and a knowledge base. This allows artificial intelligence to efficiently perform key tasks for the Android ecosystem.
