Google's New Smart Glasses: An Introduction to Future Technology

At this week's Google I/O developer conference, there was an opportunity to test the company's new AI-powered glasses. These are not just audio-only models expected to launch this fall, but Android XR glasses that combine audio and visual experiences. The device features a display that overlays useful widgets like weather, navigation, Uber data, and live translation onto the real world. According to Techcrunch.com reports. .

Google is developing these glasses in partnership with brands like Warby Parker, Gentle Monster, and Samsung. Although the prototype tested does not yet have its final design, it serves to verify display technology and battery efficiency. The device is noted to work seamlessly with both iOS and Android smartphones and is expected to become an integral part of daily life in the future.

To activate the Gemini AI, simply press and hold the right side of the glasses frame for two seconds. A special sound signal indicates that the system is active. During the test, music playback and camera functions via Gemini were checked. Although sound quality in noisy environments does not match earbuds like AirPods, it is very convenient for receiving information and listening to music without being disconnected from the outside world.

In the final version of the glasses, users will be able to customize whether the camera turns on automatically when Gemini is activated. The device will also feature automatic wear detection. Currently in the prototype stage, this technology is considered a serious step by Google against Apple and other competitors in the wearable devices market.
