Max overtakes Telegram and WhatsApp to become the leader in Russia

An unexpected shift has occurred in the competition between messengers in the Russian market. For the first time, the Max messenger has surpassed Telegram and WhatsApp in average daily audience, becoming the most popular service in the country. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports .

According to the results for April, nearly 68 million users aged 12 and older used the Max service daily. This represents a 10.6 percent increase compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, Telegram fell to second place with 50.3 million daily users, losing nearly 30 percent of its audience within a month.

The WhatsApp messenger took third place with 29.8 million users. However, in terms of total monthly reach, Telegram still maintains the lead (88 million users). Max (85.4 million) and WhatsApp (71.7 million) follow in the rankings.

According to Max's own data, including users not accounted for by Mediascope statistics, the actual daily audience has already reached 85 million people. This growth is occurring against the backdrop of restrictions imposed on other foreign messengers.

Nevertheless, Telegram remains the primary platform for the advertising market in Russia. Currently, about 50 percent of the influencer marketing market is accounted for by this platform.
