Electricity and gas tariffs to be updated from June 1: what will change?

Starting June 1, 2026, electricity and natural gas prices in Uzbekistan will be revised, and new tariffs will be introduced. This was announced in the Cabinet of Ministers' decision regarding the pricing of fuel and energy resources.
According to this decision, the price for 1 kWh of electricity for Group I and II consumers is set at 1,100 soums. The same tariff applies to Group IV consumers. For Group III, which includes the general population, the differentiated (tiered) tariff system remains in place.
Specifically, for citizens living in multi-story buildings and dormitories equipped with electric stoves:
- up to 200 kWh per month — 325 soums,
- from 201 to 500 kWh — 450 soums,
- from 501 to 1,000 kWh — 550 soums.
For other residential consumers:
- up to 200 kWh — 650 soums,
- from 201 to 500 kWh — 900 soums,
- from 501 to 1,000 kWh — 1,100 soums.
Increased coefficient tariffs will continue to apply for consumption exceeding the established limits.
Natural gas prices have also been updated, with the general rate set at 2,000 soums per cubic meter. For CNG filling stations, this figure is 2,750 soums.
Tiered tariffs for gas supply to the population remain. Specifically, for consumption up to 500 cubic meters per month during the heating season, and up to 100 cubic meters during other periods, the rate is 1,100 soums per cubic meter.
In accordance with the government decision, additional tasks have been set to reduce losses in energy resource supply, increase energy efficiency, and improve service quality.
As a reminder, under current regulations, electricity and natural gas tariffs are indexed once a year, starting May 1, by no more than 10 percent.
