China raises tariffs on US goods to 125%

China will raise tariffs on US imports from 84% to 125%, Finance.mail.ru reported.
The decision will take effect on April 11, 2025. This move comes in response to the Trump administration’s announcement of increasing tariffs on Chinese goods to 145%.
The Tariff Committee of China’s State Council called the US actions a unilateral act of intimidation and coercion. They also said the decision violates international trade regulations, core economic principles, and common sense.
China also announced it will file a formal complaint with the World Trade Organization.
