New Tashkent Metro line may be built from Mingurik station to Abu Saxiy

A new line is being planned for the Tashkent Metro. It is reported that a new metro line could be built from the Mingurik station to the Chilonzor trade market.

Currently, work is underway to develop project documentation and assess construction feasibility for this route. This was announced during the presentation of proposals to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding improving service quality and infrastructure efficiency in the capital's metro.

According to the plan, the project could be implemented in two stages. The first stage involves building the Mingurik — South Station route, and the second stage explores extending this network from the South Station to the Chilonzor trade market.

If the project is implemented, the metro network will reach the Abu Saxiy market area. This is expected to significantly facilitate travel to this region.

Experts believe the new line will help reduce transport load in the southern part of the city, decrease traffic congestion, and make it easier to reach major shopping centers.
