Uzbek man sentenced to 7 years in prison for drug trafficking in Sochi

In Sochi, Russia, a citizen of Uzbekistan has been sentenced for attempting to traffic synthetic drugs, reports “Kommersant.”

According to the investigation, he worked as a courier in a drug network, receiving shipments, repackaging them into smaller portions, and placing them in hidden storage spots for later sale.

However, his criminal activity was stopped during a special operation by law enforcement officers.

The court found him guilty of five offenses involving an attempted sale of a large quantity of synthetic drugs, committed as part of a group with prior agreement.

He was sentenced to seven years in a high-security penal colony.
