Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a ceremonial military parade in Beijing

As part of his official visit to Beijing, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a ceremonial military parade on Tiananmen Square on September 3, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.

The event was attended by more than twenty heads of state and representatives, including leaders of Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Vietnam, Egypt and other countries.

In his speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of preserving historical memory, maintaining peace and ensuring justice in today\'s conditions.

45 units of the Chinese People\'s Liberation Army took part in the parade. The latest models of missile systems, tanks, aviation equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles produced by the Chinese defense industry were demonstrated.

Such parades have been held in Beijing since 1949, and the last major military parade was held on October 1, 2019, with about 15,000 participants.

The participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the solemn events in Beijing was another confirmation of the country\'s consistent foreign policy aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between peoples, developing constructive dialogue at the regional and global levels for peace, sustainable development and prosperity.
