21-Meter Statue in India Honors Messi's Sincere Gratitude
The captain of the Argentina national football team and forward for the United States’ Inter Miami club, Lionel Messi, has commented on the unveiling of a monumental statue dedicated to him in Kolkata, India.
Kolkata’s heartfelt support
The global football star expressed immense gratitude for the attention from the people of Kolkata. His statement was shared via the Asian News International’s social media page:
“This is a huge honor for me. I am very happy with the support I receive from the people of Kolkata. They support me and the Argentina national team. It’s an incredible feeling,” said Leo Messi.
It is noted that the magnificent statue dedicated to Messi measures an impressive 21 meters in height.
His career at Inter Miami
As a reminder, the 38-year-old skilled striker has been playing for Inter Miami since the summer of 2023. His current contract with the U.S. club runs until the end of December 2028.
