Hantavirus cases are spreading: Detected in the USA and France

New cases of hantavirus have been recorded in the USA and France. The situation surrounding the MV Hondius cruise ship, where the virus spread, is under strict international monitoring.

In the USA, one of 17 Americans who were on the ship tested positive for hantavirus. Another passenger reportedly showed mild symptoms. According to the US Department of Health, two citizens were transported by plane under special isolation conditions.

All evacuated passengers are being placed in a specialized infectious disease center. Experts are keeping their health under constant observation.

In France, a woman who was on the cruise ship has also been diagnosed with the virus. According to BFMTV, French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist confirmed the case. The patient has been hospitalized, and 22 people who were in contact with her are under observation.

Previously, 94 people were evacuated from the MV Hondius in Spain. According to the latest data, eight cases of hantavirus have been confirmed so far. Three people have died, and another patient remains in critical condition at a hospital in Johannesburg.
