USA plans major military operation against Cuba

A new and highly alarming crisis is brewing on the global political stage, posing a serious threat to international security. The influential Politico publication, citing high-ranking officials and insider sources in the US government, reports that the US Southern Command has discussed potential military action scenarios against the island of Cuba in several special meetings. It is noted that Washington is now approaching the options for armed intervention in this country much more seriously and coldly than before.
White House disappointed: Sanctions failed
To put it bluntly, US President Donald Trump and his team of close advisors are deeply concerned that the economic and political pressure exerted by America has failed to bring the Cuban leadership to its knees.
“According to the White House's initial strategic calculations, the Havana leadership was weak. The tightening of economic restrictions, the de facto oil blockade, and the clear successes of the US military in the directions of Venezuela and Iran were supposed to force the Cubans to surrender and reach an agreement quickly,” says an unnamed source.
However, it did not turn out as expected. The Cuban people and government proved to be much more resilient and determined than initial forecasts suggested. Experts believe such stubbornness may be directly linked to Iran's position in global conflicts with the US and the covert support it provides.
Plan to capture Raul Castro and ground invasion
Politico investigations suggest that Washington does not intend to limit itself to capturing former legendary Cuban leader Raul Castro or a few members of the political elite. The US administration is currently analyzing several comprehensive military options, including decisive airstrikes and a direct invasion via ground troops plans.
Cuban President: “This is a pretext for war!”
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel responded immediately to the situation. He emphasized that the Island of Freedom poses no risk or threat to the security of the United States.
The Cuban leader acknowledged the US right to defend its territory from military aggression, but sharply condemned the use of such false concerns as a fake pretext to “impose a horrific war on the Cuban people.” He openly called the economic restrictions being incessantly imposed by Washington “an act of genocide” .
When and why did relations break down?
Relations between the two countries reached a critical point in January this year after Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing sharp customs tariffs on goods from foreign countries supplying petroleum products to Cuba. As a result, a severe energy crisis and power outages began on the island. Exacerbating the situation, on May 1 of this year, Donald Trump enacted a new, even more brutal package of sanctions against the Cuban political leadership. The situation in the Caribbean is escalating by the hour.
Do you think this tension between the US and Cuba will be resolved through peaceful diplomatic means, or could it turn into an actual armed conflict?
