Artillery shell explodes at scrapyard in Xorazm — one dead

An artillery shell exploded at a scrapyard in Yangiariq district, Xorazm region, killing one person, according to Uz24.uz.

The incident is now being investigated by the military prosecutor’s office. Initial reports suggest the shells were illegally sold by military personnel to scrap collectors. Several servicemen have been detained.

During the investigation, authorities discovered about 30 additional shells at the site.
