Chinese who tortured a cat jailed for 5 days

In Tashkent city, a Chinese citizen was jailed for 5 days for pouring boiling water on a cat, reported uz24.uz.

On September 18, the Yakkasaray district court reviewed the case and sentenced the defendant to 5 days of administrative detention. Lawyers filed an appeal requesting to replace this punishment with a fine, but the Tashkent city court rejected this complaint.

The non-governmental organization "Mehr va Oqibat" stated that such violence should not go unpunished and called for measures to deport the offender from Uzbekistan.
