Monaco Midfielder Sidelined Long-Term Due to Severe Injury

AS Monaco midfielder Takumi Minamino has suffered a serious knee injury, as announced by the club's press service.

The Japanese footballer has been diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament tear. Minamino sustained the injury during the French Cup Round of 64 match against AJ Auxerre.

The match concluded with a 2–1 victory for Monaco. Due to the injury, Minamino was unable to continue playing and was substituted as early as the 36th minute.

A medical examination confirmed the worst fears. The recovery timeline for the player will be determined at a later date.
