Hojiyakbar Alijonov lands major contract from Iranian club

Uzbekistan national team regular defender Hojiyakbar Alijonov is close to leaving Pakhtakor. The Tashkent club’s left-back is expected to continue his career with Iran’s Persepolis. This was reported by upl.uz.reports.
According to sources, the player has reached a 1.5-year agreement with his new club. Earlier it was said the transfer fee could range from $800,000 to $1 million, and the Iranians plan to pay Pakhtakor within that range.
Alijonov’s personal terms have also improved significantly: his salary will increase severalfold. The 28-year-old defender is a Pakhtakor academy product and has made 229 appearances for the club.
