Bayern continue contract talks with Upamecano

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund commented on the situation regarding a new contract for Dayot Upamecano. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.

According to media reports, the club has not yet reached a full agreement on the terms of a deal with the French defender. There are six months left until the current contract expires.

Freund noted that Upamecano has been performing at a high level over the past year and a half, since Kompany joined the team. “Extending the contract of such a player is very important for us. The talks are going well. He is 27 and will turn 28 this year — the best age for a footballer. This is a very important decision for him, as it will determine where he spends the next three to four years. There is no final agreement yet, but we have made a significant step forward,” he said, citing Bayern & Germany.

Earlier, reports said Upamecano was on the radar of PSG, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
