Giant sunspots have appeared on the Sun

Scientists have noted the formation of a large group of sunspots on the far side of the Sun, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory.
It is noted that one of the most dangerous activity centers in recent years has been observed by the Solar Orbiter spacecraft.
Experts believe that such a high level of solar activity has rarely been seen over the past year. In terms of size and location on the solar disk, the closest occurrence was region 3664, observed in May 2024.
Specialists recall that the powerful flares and their impact on Earth during that period caused the strongest geomagnetic storm in the last 20 years.
It is emphasized that the most powerful solar flares in history have occurred in such massive active regions.
According to data, the Sun completes a full rotation on its axis in about four weeks when viewed from Earth. Scientists estimate that this active region will begin to appear on the left side of the Sun in a week, and after another week, it may reach the most dangerous point relative to Earth.
However, experts note that two weeks is a very long time for sunspots. During this period, they can emerge, produce powerful flares, or disappear completely.
For this reason, scientists state that it is currently difficult to accurately predict the future impact of this sunspot group.
