Freiburg Wins in a Match with Own Goal and Penalty

The Bundesliga's 19th round match between Freiburg and Cologne was eventful. This is reported by euro-football.runewsreports.

In the 10th minute of the match, the visitors opened the scoring: Max Rosenfelder accidentally put the ball into his own net. However, Freiburg quickly responded — in the 11th minute, after a pass from Yuito Suzuki, Derry Scherhant lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper to equalize. Just before the break, in the 44th minute, Igor Matanovic converted a Matthias Ginter pass into a goal, putting the hosts ahead — 2:1.

In the middle of the second half, a penalty was awarded against Cologne: Alessio Castro-Montes was penalized for handball. However, Matanovic failed to convert the penalty — the goalkeeper saved it and directed it for a corner.

Following this victory, Freiburg moved up to 7th place in the standings, while Cologne remained in 10th position.
