Neymar furious after being substituted due to error in Santos match

Brazilian star Neymar Jr was forced to leave the pitch on Sunday due to a misunderstanding during the match between Santos and Coritiba. In the second half of the match, where Santos were trailing 0:3, Neymar was receiving medical treatment off the pitch. This is reported by Goal.com reports .

Although the coaching staff submitted a substitution slip to the referee to replace the number 31 player Escobar, the fourth official mistakenly displayed Neymar's number 10. Unaware of the situation, Neymar was furious when he tried to return to the pitch only to see that Robinho Jr had been brought on in his place.

Neymar protested the referees' decision vehemently, snatched the substitution slip, and showed the cameras that number 31 was written on it, blaming the fourth official. This incident was part of a disastrous day for Santos, as the team suffered a heavy home defeat against Coritiba.

During the match, Santos player Luan Peres suffered a serious injury and left the pitch in an ambulance, while Alvaro Barreal received a red card, leaving his team a man down. As a result, Santos dropped to 16th place in the league table.

Now, Neymar is waiting to see if Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti will include him in the squad for upcoming matches. It is hoped that the player's emotional outburst on the sidelines will not affect his future with the national team.
