Gabriel mocks Manchester City fan after Arsenal's title win

Gabriel Magalhaes did not forget old scores while celebrating Arsenal's first Premier League title in 22 years on Tuesday night. The Brazilian center-back hit back at a Manchester City fan who had mocked the Gunners' title charge throughout the season on social media. This is reported by Goal.com.

Bournemouth's 1-1 draw with Manchester City mathematically confirmed the title for Mikel Arteta's side. While the team celebrated at London Colney, Gabriel posted a photo on his Instagram of a famous City fan, Tal Rehman, holding a water bottle with the Arsenal crest. The defender captioned the photo, "Thinking too much?", responding to those who called his team "bottlers".

Declan Rice, one of the pillars of the winning season, also reminded the doubters of his confidence. Sharing a photo with his teammates, he recalled his words after the defeat to Manchester City in April: "I told you all... job done". Bukayo Saka, holding champagne with Myles Lewis-Skelly, joked: "They called us 'bottlers', now we are holding the real bottles (trophies)."

Arsenal moved within reach of the title after Monday's win over Burnley. On Tuesday, Pep Guardiola's side dropping points at Bournemouth brought the title back to North London. Even an Erling Haaland equalizer could not save the "Citizens". This is the first title since the legendary "Invincibles" season of 2004.

Celebrations will continue after Sunday's match against Crystal Palace, where Arsenal will officially lift their 14th league title. However, the work is not over for Mikel Arteta, as the new champions face one of the most important matches in club history later this month.
