Raphinha on his relationship with Lamine Yamal: If he makes a mistake, we scold him

Barcelona star Raphinha has opened up about his relationship with the team's young talent Lamine Yamal. The Brazilian winger stated that he feels like a mentor and an older brother to the young player, and he does not hesitate to reprimand him when necessary. Raphinha, who has taken on a leadership role at Camp Nou, emphasized that he views the 17-year-old as his younger brother. This is reported by Goal.com .
The close bond between Raphinha and Yamal, both on and off the pitch, has become a key factor in Barcelona's success this season. Their joint goal celebrations frequently go viral on social media. The Brazilian explained that this connection is based not just on tactical instructions, but on a deep personal bond.
"He is 11 years younger than me. I truly see him as my little brother, even younger than my own brother. That is why I try to give him as much advice as I can. As for our joint celebrations, we saw them on the internet and agreed to do them together. It is just a symbol of brotherhood," Raphinha said in an interview with TNT Sports.
While Raphinha praised Yamal's extraordinary talent, he noted that even the brightest stars need discipline. According to him, if the young player loses focus, the experienced players in the Barcelona squad immediately intervene. Raphinha said he strives to teach him from his life experience, but added that Yamal's innate talent cannot be taught.
"He is a very good kid, he always listens and asks for advice. If he does something silly, we scold him, and he takes it well. Despite the 11-year age gap, our relationship is excellent," the Brazilian added. He also did not hide his dream of facing Yamal in a future World Cup final between Brazil and Spain.
