Barcelona rejects opportunity to sign two stars for free

Barcelona has rejected the proposal to sign Bernardo Silva and Dusan Vlahovic, who will become free agents this summer. Despite financial difficulties, the Catalan club prefers to focus on other high-profile targets to replace Robert Lewandowski. The club's management aims to fill tactical gaps in the squad rather than simply collecting cheap options. This is according to Goal.com reports.

Renowned journalist Sique Rodriguez reports that Barcelona has firmly rejected the proposal regarding Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese playmaker, who has won every possible trophy with Manchester City since 2017, is nearing the end of his contract. However, the club stated they are satisfied with their midfield and will focus on strengthening other positions.

Following Robert Lewandowski's potential departure, the club is looking for a new center-forward, but Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is not the primary candidate. The Serbian international will also become a free agent this summer. According to Rodriguez, Vlahovic's transfer is not a priority for Barcelona, and his arrival would imply that the club failed to secure other main targets.

The club must resolve financial issues to comply with the 1:1 rule set by La Liga. This requires securing the 32 million euros owed by New Era Visionary Group and generating additional funds through the sale of players like Ansu Fati. Only then will the club be able to make major transfers for the new season.
