China floods Uzbekistan with phones
Between January and May 2025, Uzbekistan imported more than 1.5 million mobile phones, Kursiv media reported.
According to the National Statistics Committee, 1.1 million units — 76.4% of the total — were imported from China.
Vietnam ranked second with 304.5 thousand phones, followed by the UAE with 47.3 thousand units.
Uzbekistan also imported 15.6 thousand phones from India and 0.9 thousand from other countries.
The total value of imported phones during this five-month period was $159 million.
