Google Announces New Requirements for Gemini Intelligence

Google has increased the hardware requirements for the Gemini Intelligence feature on the Android operating system. To use these AI capabilities, smartphones must now have at least 12 GB of RAM, a high-performance flagship processor, and support for the AICore system platform. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

This new standard excludes many mid-range and entry-level Android devices from the technology. Consequently, in the near future, the Gemini Intelligence feature will only be available on the most advanced and expensive smartphone models.

According to initial reports, the first devices to support this feature will include the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 foldable smartphones. Additionally, the Google Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 models are expected to receive this capability via a system update in the summer.

Gemini Intelligence is a suite of AI tools that turns a smartphone into a true smart assistant. It not only answers questions but is also capable of performing automated tasks within apps. For example, users can delegate tasks such as placing orders, booking services, or creating shopping carts based on screenshots to the AI.
