Is this trend coming back? Anniversary iPhone model might feature a curved screen

Well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, citing supply chain sources, reported that Apple is planning significant changes to the iPhone design by 2027. According to new information, the anniversary smartphone is expected to be equipped with a curved screen. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
This is not about the classic "waterfall screen," but rather a panel curved on all four sides of the housing. Previously, rumors circulated that next year's anniversary iPhone model would feature 1.1 mm bezels and a screen rounded on all four sides.
Notably, similar technological solutions have been widely used by Android smartphone manufacturers in recent years. Samsung Electronics, Huawei, Vivo, and other brands have introduced devices with heavily curved screens.
However, over time, the industry began to move away from such screens. Due to accidental touches, repair complexity, and high production costs, many companies returned to more practical flat panels. Now, Apple may revive this trend.
For reference, Digital Chat Station previously accurately predicted the specifications of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, as well as the fact that the Realme GT 7 Pro smartphone would launch with a bright Samsung screen and that the Dimensity 9400 chip would be introduced before the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
