Over 134,000 cameras and AI to monitor EGE-2026 exams

Rostelecom has prepared a video surveillance system equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to monitor the 2026 state exam (EGE) process. The provider has installed over 134,400 video cameras in more than 6,000 examination centers, ensuring full coverage of all rooms. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
To increase the transparency and objectivity of the examination process, behavior analysis technology based on neural networks is being used. The system detects suspicious movements by participants, including the use of communication devices and cheat sheets, as well as the removal of examination materials.
The neural network processes data from 300 classrooms in real-time daily, along with archive recordings from 1,000 classrooms. Video streams are transmitted to the Smotri EGE portal, accessible only to accredited specialists and public observers.
For security purposes, all video recordings will be stored in Rostelecom data processing centers until March 1, 2027. To prevent data loss, copies are also saved to hard drives or local memory cards in each camera. In remote areas, images are transmitted via satellite communication channels.
The system is based on high-definition (IP) digital cameras and secure communication channels. Developers state that the cameras only record the examination process and do not capture participants' personal data or test answers.
