Haier unveils titanium and liquid material exoskeleton weighing under 2 kg

Haier has unveiled a new robotic exoskeleton equipped with artificial intelligence. The Haier W3 model is made entirely of carbon fiber and titanium alloy, weighing just 1.75 kg. This figure sets a new industry record. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

The Haier W3 device uses non-Newtonian liquid materials to effectively dampen impact loads and protect joints. Non-Newtonian fluid has a unique property where its viscosity changes depending on the force or speed of impact. During a sudden impact, it turns solid, while it behaves like a normal liquid under slow pressure.

The device is equipped with a version 3.0 AI-based gait analysis algorithm and multi-dimensional sensors. This system allows the user's movement intent to be detected in milliseconds. Additionally, the Haier W3 can intelligently adapt to 12 types of daily sports and automatically select the optimal assistance mode.

In terms of technical capabilities, the exoskeleton is powered by two high-torque motors and a battery. It provides up to 16 N·m of assistive force to each leg, reducing the load by 5 kg and helping to save up to 37 percent of the body's energy expenditure.
