Iran lifts three-month internet blackout for 90 million people

It has been announced that access to the international internet for the population of Iran will soon be restored. According to the ISNA agency, citing Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sattar Hashemi, the process has already begun, and the entire population is expected to be reconnected within the next 24 hours. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Earlier, the Tasnim agency reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had ordered the lifting of restrictions on internet usage in the country. Against the backdrop of this directive, officials confirmed that work to restore access to the international network segment has commenced.
However, according to the international monitoring service NetBlocks, the internet in Iran remains largely offline. The digital blackout has already lasted more than 88 days—a total of 2,088 hours. Analysts at the service note that despite the presidential decree, the restrictions currently remain in place.
It is worth noting that the large-scale internet outage in Iran has had a serious impact on social and economic processes. This decision by official Tehran is a long-awaited step by the international community and local users.
