Unique Yasen intraocular lenses for cataract surgery to be produced in Russia

Serial production of domestic intraocular lenses called Yasen, designed for lens replacement in cataract surgery, has been launched in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Health. According to Ixbt.com reports .
These lenses are being manufactured at the S. N. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution. In the initial stage, it is planned to produce up to 12,000 units per year, with plans to increase this figure to 25,000 in the future.
Experts note that the new lens is designed for implantation after the removal of a cloudy natural lens. In terms of quality and optical properties, it significantly surpasses standard monofocal models.
The Ministry of Health also specifically noted that the procedure for implanting these high-tech lenses will be performed free of charge for citizens under the compulsory medical insurance program.
