Radeon graphics cards outperform NVIDIA models in 007: First Light

Experts from TechPowerUp tested over 30 graphics cards in the new 007: First Light game. This project, warmly received by media and gamers, turned out to be unexpectedly well-optimized for AMD products. Despite some software-level flaws, Radeon cards significantly outperform their direct competitors. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Specifically, at 1440p resolution, the Radeon RX 9070 model not only surpassed the RTX 5070 but also approached the performance of the RTX 5070 Ti. Notably, the price difference between these models is nearly double. Additionally, the previous-generation RX 7900 XTX model demonstrated higher efficiency than even the new RTX 5080.

While NVIDIA cards perform slightly better in 4K, unexplained drops are observed in the RTX 40 series. For instance, the RTX 4070 performed worse than the older RTX 3070 and lost to the budget-friendly RX 9060 8GB. Overall, the game's optimization is decent: at Full HD, the RTX 3060 provides over 40 fps, while the RTX 3060 Ti maintains a stable 60 fps.

To achieve 60 fps at high-quality 1440p, cards at the level of the RX 7700 XT or RTX 4070 are required. At 4K resolution, the load increases sharply—even the RTX 5080 delivers around 60 fps at maximum settings without upscalers or frame generation. These results demonstrate the balance between the game's visual quality and technical requirements.
