Uzbekistan to digitize customs and risk control

According to a presidential decree, Uzbekistan will double the volume of customs declarations processed without human involvement by 2026, uz24.uz reported.

The decree also outlines these goals:
- By 2030, raise Uzbekistan’s rank to at least 55th in the World Bank’s LPI index;
-By 2028, reduce customs inspections from 21% to 15%;
- By 2030, double the effectiveness of risk management using artificial intelligence.

Starting from July 1, 2025, cargo documents in veterinary and phytosanitary areas will be processed electronically.
