Uzbekistan plans to reduce airfare prices

The government of Uzbekistan is preparing a mechanism to allocate state subsidies for domestic flights to reduce air travel costs for passengers. Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriyev stated that the draft resolution has been developed and is currently in the final stages of approval. Once adopted, the state will begin covering a portion of ticket prices for travelers.

Ministry representatives explained that the rise in ticket prices was primarily caused by increased aviation fuel costs, longer flight durations, and a global shortage of aircraft. Choriyev noted that after the crisis in the Middle East, the cost of some aircraft increased by up to 150%, which directly impacted airfare prices.
