The number of men in Tashkent is decreasing compared to women

As of January 1, 2026, there are on average 1,015 men for every 1,000 women in Uzbekistan. However, Tashkent is the only region in the country where the number of men is lower than that of women.
According to regional statistical data, the number of men per 1,000 women is as follows:
— Namangan Region — 1,034 (highest indicator);
— Kashkadarya Region — 1,029;
— Andijan Region — 1,027;
— Navoi Region — 1,026;
— Surkhandarya Region — 1,025;
— Jizzakh and Fergana Regions — 1,019;
— Samarkand Region — 1,016;
— Republic of Karakalpakstan — 1,010;
— Syrdarya Region — 1,009;
— Tashkent Region — 1,008;
— Bukhara Region — 1,006;
— Khorezm Region — 1,004;
— Tashkent City — 966 (lowest indicator).
Statistical data shows that the number of women in the capital significantly exceeds that of men.
